He completed undergrdaate and graduate studies in economics in METU, Leeds University and Nottingham University. He became an assocatiate professor in economic development and international economics. He taught principles of economics, development economics, international economics and macroeconomics in various universities. He published many articles in national and international journals and presented papers. He is currently the dean of the School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
